I Am A Fish
the obligatory 'about' page

2006: I graduated with a BS in Political Science and Ethnic Studies from Oregon State University, got a job in a corporate office.

2005: Returned to OSU. Began a healthy relationship with current beau. Went to Las Vegas, and he bought me all the chocolates I could eat from the Cheesecake Factory.

2004: Went to NYC and DC. Surgically removed eight teeth (four wisdom teeth and the four premolars directly behind the canines) and put on braces to fix mild overbite.

2003: Quit Army ROTC (discharged from the Reserves), and left Oregon State University to transfer to University of Oregon with a journalism scholarship. Joined Kappa Delta Sorority duing formal rush, and depledged yet again.

2002: During spring break, a friend and I traveled over 3,000 miles by Greyhound from Oregon to NYC. I celebrated my birthday in Hawaii.

2001: My parents divorced, forcing my early high school graduation, went to San Francisco, enrolled at Oregon State University with a four-year Army ROTC scholarship, joined Chi Omega sorority during informal rush (and quickly depledged), had my first alcoholic beverage (a Corona!), and found out my father had Hepatitis C.

2000: I went to NYC for a few weeks.

1999: My parents took me on a roadtrip to Las Vegas. When the car broke down and I was forced to spend my birthday there, I asked my dad to buy me a desert at the Cheesecake Factory. He said I was "fat enough already" and I cried all the way back to Imperial Palace. My mother said, "You asshole, it's her birthday."

1998:

1997: My mother and father took me on a roadtrip to California. The climax must have been when my mother screamed at my father for not knowing where to buy flowers in the middle of nowhere for an hour, and then stumbling around a cemetary until my parents pointed to a tombstone and bluntly said, "That's your sister."

1996: My father's side of the family and I went to Disneyland.

1995: We went on a roadtrip to Yellowstone.

1994: I accepted Jesus as my savior and promised never to lie again. Oops.

1993: My parents and I moved to Oregon.

1992: I vividly remember being outside an abortion clinic with my father, waiting for my mother, while protestors with signs yelled and spit at us. My parents have never discussed it, so for a long while I thought it was merely a vivid dream I once had. What a freaky dream for a kid to have, huh?

1991: My family and I moved to Fort Hood, Texas so my father could better train for Desert Storm. Yes, I am an 'Army brat.'

1990: The neighbors used to ask my mother why she was so thin and I was such a heifer. Some suggested that I may have eaten enough for both of us.

1989: After finding out that the "American dream" was just a lie, my grandfather drank himself into a painful cancer, and then, death. I think my parents took me to Disneyland.

1988:

1987:

1986: My sister, Dora, passed away.
